In modification by adaptation, the game is modified to increase the challenge to the player who was successful on the previous game encounter. Changes can be made in relation to the constraints of the game, such as space, scoring, game rules or number of players, in order to ensure the outcome of the game is close, and for the unanticipated to happen during game play. In some ways, it is like playing a video game. As you progress to the next level, the game becomes challenging for you "automatically" through the built-in game mechanics that the teacher designs for. Attached are two simple examples, using net barrier games to illustrate the pedagogical principle.
